The debt of the residents of Kharkiv and Kharkiv region for natural gas as of December 1 has reached 485 million UAH. To avoid the debt accumulation and problems with gas supply the gas enterprises of the region advise to consumers who are unable to pay for the consumed gas independently, to apply as soon as possible to the management of social protection for filing the government aid.
According to the Open joint-stock company (OJSC) “Kharkivgaz”, for the moment in Kharkiv and the region a subsidy is used by 222 thousand of household users and 195 thousand residents who have reduced payment for gas.
“The issue of timely payments for gas is especially important in winter when the volumes of fuel consumption grow. The accumulation of debts jeopardizes the stability of gas supplies to the region,” said the director of “Kharkivgazsbyt” Pavel Tyndik. In November because of debts gas supply was suspended in 600 houses in the Kharkiv region.
The gas companies also pay citizens attention to the fact that further debt accumulation not only endangers the uninterrupted supply of gas but also leads to emergency situations as far as gas networks require continuous preventive maintenance and repair.
