Today, on December 18th, at the meeting of the European Commission (EC) its members have approved a report on Ukraine’s implementation of the requirements of the Action Plan of visa liberalization, as it was stated in a new report from the EC, published on its website.
“Taking into account the results of the monitoring and reporting carried out after the beginning of the visa dialogue in October 2008, the Commission considers that Ukraine has fulfilled all the criteria set out in the four blocks of the second phase of the Action Plan of visa liberalization” as it was noted at the findings of the EC “visa-free report”.
The conclusion of the document also states that in early 2016 the European Commission will submit a proposal to amend the regulation which includes a list of countries with “visa-free entry” to the European Union.
The EC report will be forwarded to the European Council and to the European Parliament, and then on the basis of this document, European authorities must approve the decision to liberalize the visa regime with Ukraine.
