Ukraine took the 14th place among 150 countries in terms of illegal capital outflow, according to a research organization “Global Financial Integrity“.
Every year an average of $ 11.676 billion is illegally withdrawn from Ukraine. In general, for 10 years $ 116.762 billion has been moved out from Ukraine, according to the investigation. The researches emphasize that the rating covers the period from 2004 till 2013.
The volume of withdrawn funds rose sharply in 2008: as in 2007 $ 7.175 billion was put out from Ukraine, and the next year, the country brought out twice as much – $ 16.922 billion. The largest capital, a record for our country, was in the amount of $ 21 billion in 2012.
The first place in the ranking of the illegal capital outflow was taken by China as its average output is about $140 billion per year. It is followed by Russia, with the annual illegal withdrawal of nearly $ 105 billion, almost as much as Ukrainian one for 10 years.
It is worth noting that earlier “Global Financial Integrity” had no enough data concerning the capital withdrawal volumes from Ukraine, and the data of previous years differs significantly from the current figures.
