The Lithuanian Consulate opened in Kharkiv

In Kharkiv the Honorary Consulate of Lithuania opened. As the Kharkiv Region State Administration (KRSA) reported, the opening of the Consulate, which was held on November 18, was attended by Lithuanian Ambassador to Ukraine, Marius Janukonis, and the Deputy Chairman of the KRSA, Mikhail Chernyak.

“I am confident that the opening of the Consulate in Kharkiv will provide for additional opportunities for social and economic cooperation between the Republic of Lithuania and Kharkiv region. We are pleased that even in such difficult time, our partners, full-fledged members of the European Union, started to get interested in our region,” – Chernyak said.

“Kharkiv has a huge scientific, academic, and cultural potential. In the frame of the Consulate work, we will successfully develop new and new projects,” – Janukonis stated.

According to the Honorary Consul of Lithuania in Kharkiv, Konstantin Tokarev, cooperation between Kharkiv and Lithuania, in particular, will develop in humanitarian and medical fields, countries will actively implement student exchange programs.
