The first Student Championship of solving the business cases «SMP-Challenge» (Student Management Performance Challenge) started in our region on October 7th, 2015. In Kharkiv the championship will start on October 19th, 2015.
The educational project was organized by the Kharkiv Regional Youth Organization (KSYO) “The Young Entrepreneurs Union” and by the Economics and Management Faculty of the Karazin Kharkiv National Univirstity, with the support of the Kharkiv Regional State Administration within the framework of the development strategy of the Kharkov region.
The project has the format of business competitions in real market conditions, and is divided into 2 seasons, 6 months, 10 sections and 52 business cases (“Cases” means the companies’ tasks for which the necessary information is provided for students.).
During the school year 300 students who initially will take part in the championship will solve the actual business cases from companies, enterprises of the Kharkiv region, and public authorities. 18 Kharkiv companies have shown interest and have already confirmed their willingness to cooperate with young businessmen.
As a result of the decisions of cases, the participants will receive points and the organizers will make personal, team, section, faculties, and universities rankings.
The different sections range from auto business, law, restaurant business, entertainment, sports, health, investment projects, etc. and are opened in the championship.
The students participants of the championship will not only be able to solve the tasks and test their knowledge, but will also receive ratings, valuable experience, and an opportunity to start a career.
The students who offer the best decisions of cases will receive certificates and prizes from the companies, as well as an invitation for an internship for the implementation of their proposals.
The Head of Analytical and Presentation Department of the Kharkiv Regional State Administration, Alexey Lyska, expressed his hope for a getting a solution to the case of outputting Kharkov’s producers into foreign markets as this idea has not been discussed enough. At same time he noted about starting a special website where our producers could express themselves and find foreign partners.
