Photographer from Kharkiv has received a golden ring

Well known Ukrainian photographer, Boris Mikhailov, has won the Goslarer Kaiserring international prize. On Saturday, October 10th, the awards ceremony was held in the city of Goslar.

The central theme of Boris Mikhailov works is people who have not found their place in life after “perestroika”.

Within the last ten years, the photographer’s solo exhibitions are held annually in Moscow, London, Geneva, New York, Barcelona, Berlin and Tokyo. His works are presented in many museums around the world. Mikhailov is a member of the Berlin Academy of Arts. The artist received numerous prestigious international awards. He lives and works in Kharkiv and Berlin.

Reference. Goslarer Kaiserring Prize has no prize pool, but it is considered one of the most important awards in the field of contemporary art. The award is a golden ring with aquamarine and the image of the German of Emperor Henry IV. The prize is awarded since 1975.
