Photo exhibition of young IDPs opened in Kharkiv

During August 10th-13th, in “AVEC”, taking place is a photo exhibition titled “Life through the eyes of young people”. The photos were made by the camp participants (young internally displaced persons) along with mentors from “National Geographic”.

The photo exhibition is organized with the support of USAID “Ukrainian Initiative strengthening civil trust,” the Institute of Regional Press and Information (Kharkiv), and the organization of “Vision Workshops” (USA).

All photoworks are real life stories. Many of them show the pain and despair of the IDPs. They all are very different, but the main theme in them is kindness and optimism. “This photo is about each of us. They reflect the loss, but then there is a small ray of hope that things will get better,” says a man from Lugansk about these pictures.

This autumn the exhibition will be also held in Kiev, Odesa, Zaporizhzhya, Dnepropetrovsk, Slavaynsk, Severodonetsk, Lviv.

The photo-camp “National Geographic – Ukraine” for young IDPs’ took place in Kharkov from the 5th to 10th of July in the camp “Romashka”, with the support of the US Agency for International Development (USAID). More information on the topic can be found in our previous article.
