International Action “Science Picnic” – the Ukrainian-Polish Festival, popularizing science and higher education, was held in the Shevchenko park of Kharkiv on September 6th.
Kharkiv Mayor, Gennady Kernes, opened the event. He thanked all the organizers of science action, which took place in Kharkiv for the fourth time.
The “Scientific Picnic” was supported by the Department of Family, Youth and Sports, the Kharkiv City Center of youth leisure, Ukrainian-Polish project “Scientific outings in Ukraine”, and also with the assistance of the North-East Scientific Center of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, and the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine.
According to the coordinator of the project, Tatiana Baglay, organizers decided to unite several holidays and provide the dedication ceremony for future students of the “scientific picnics.”
Kharkivens and guests of the city had an opportunity to see visual and interactive programs, in simple words, explaining complicated things (experiments, puzzles, robots, drones, models and samples). Anybody could participate in experiments, workshops, games, and competitions. They represented such disciplines as chemistry, physics, forensic science, history, robotics, astronomy, computer science, medicine, mathematics, pharmacy, logic, military affairs, and more.
