President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko has announced that the country will make a new modern engine for Ukrainian-made fighter aircrafts, reports Status Quo (RU) with reference to the “Interfax-Ukraine” (UK).

img-news-2016-april-26-motorDuring a meeting in Zaporozhye region, Poroshenko said: “I am confident that, using the potential of scientific, engineering and manufacturing base of our enterprises, we will soon be able to create a new modern engine for Ukrainian fighter plane of domestic production.”

He noted that only five countries in the world can create planes, relying on their own production.

As the director of the State Enterprise’s Kharkiv machine-building plant “FED” Alexander Pashchenko, the enterprise will be able to take part in the creation of the engine for the fighter.

“Our plant is the best in the field for production of aero technics, takes part in the development and production of units for engines of JSC “Motor Sich” and SE “Zaporozhye Ivchenko Machine-Building Design Bureau “Progress”. We complete almost the whole range,” Pashchenko said.
