The Kharkiv Bureau for engine building, an integral part of SE Malyshev plant, is developing and preparing to release the tank engine of 1,500 horse power.
This was reported at the Malyshev plant during the visit of the Lithuanian delegation to the enterprise.
“The engine manufacturing, its improvement, modernization, and installation on the combat vehicle is completely approved with the plant,” said Malyshev’s representatives.
As noted, the guests from Lithuania took part in a stationary tank test, inspected engines 5-TDFM and 6TD-2, learned about their purpose and characteristics, and about the benefits of the latter (its capacity is 1200 hp, the analog output from a competitor is 850 hp).
BACKGROUND: The delegation that visited Malyshev plant consisted of Minister of National Defence of Lithuania Juozas Olekas, Director of Policy and Planning Department of the Ministry of National Defence of Lithuania Giedre Statkyavichyuts, head of the Center of military training of General Adolfas Ramanauskas Algirdas Norkus.
