The head of the National Police Khatia Dekanoidze announced that soon police patrols will begin operating at Ukraine’s schools, aif.ua reports (RU).

According to her, in the near future, the National Police will introduce a new concept of Community Policing that implies the participation of the police in dealing with issues of a populated locality.

The police will work closely with educational institutions and so-called “school police” to appear in Ukraine.

The head of the National Police said the pilot project “school police officer” is already working in the Lviv, Ivano-Frankivsk and Kyiv.

“Those patrol policemen who see themselves in this field, will get special training to represent the National Police in schools,” Dekanoidze explained.
