April 8 Chairman of the Kharkiv Regional State Administration Igor Rainin and the US Ambassador Geoffrey Pyatt signed a memorandum of understanding, reports the press service of KRSA.
Igor Rainin emphasized this document shows the confidence of the US: “I am pleased to note the United States saw our region as a reliable partner, to believe in our strength and ability to implement joint projects.”
Pyatt said one of the main benefits derived from Kharkiv signing of the Memorandum, should be the development of the regional economy.
“Kharkiv is known for its scientific, technical, academic and research communities. I am sure the memorandum will contribute to a variety of economic opportunities and help create more jobs.”
Memorandum identified priority areas for future cooperation:
– Support the activities of the Kharkiv region Office in Washington;
– Cooperation between Kharkiv region and business associations and the US investment fund to attract investment in the Kharkiv region;
– Cooperation in the scientific, educational, scientific and technological fields;
– Implementation of reforms in the Kharkiv region, aimed to prevent systemic corruption, increase transparency and efficiency, and much more.
