Chernov entered the leadership of Congress of the Council of Europe

The Chairman of the Kharkiv Regional Council Sergey Chernov was elected vice-president of the Chamber of Regions of the Congress of the Council of Europe, the press service (RU) of the regional council reported.

Chernov thanked his colleagues on the political group for his nomination for the post. Since 2008, he has been heading the Kharkiv Regional Council, since 2010 Chernov is the president of the Ukrainian Association of district and regional councils.

“Not one year, together with my colleagues in the walls of Congress I’m defending the interests of local democracy in the realization of our basic document – the European Charter of Local Self-Government,” the head of the regional council told the Chamder’s members.

Recalling that Sergey Chernov will tell in Strasbourg about the Kharkiv IDPs on March 22-24 in the session of the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities of the Council of Europe.
