About the results of the visit of the Kharkiv delegation in the USA told Deputy Chairman of Kharkiv Regional State Administration (KRSA) in an interview to Depo.ua.
Julia Svetlichnaya noted that representatives of Kharkiv visited the USA at the invitation of the Organization of Eurasian Democratic Initiatives, Center for International Private Enterprise and other governmental and non-governmental organizations. All financial costs took the American side.
According to deputy chairman, the most promising fields for cooperation are industry, agriculture and IT-technologies.
“We managed to agree on the extension of the presence of US companies in the Kharkiv region. The focus will be placed on the industry as two American giants – Holtec and Babcock & Wilcox – are already working in Kharkiv. We will continue to develop this sphere. We also managed to agree on the signing of a joint contract between Chamber of Commerce of the Kharkiv region and the Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce. Plus, prepare projects for modernization and construction of new production facilities in the territory of Kharkiv region,” said Svetlichnaya.
Also delegation met with the US Agency for International Development (USAID) and agreed on support of agricultural enterprises sector. USAID officials are planning to visit Kharkiv region in June with the proposals in terms of lending, advisory support and exchange of experience.
Also in March, Kharkiv will visit the USA Ambassador in Ukraine Geoffrey Pyatt, director of the US International Trade Office and the representative of the United States Department of Energy.
