Kharkiv National University of Radio Electronics (KNURE) is to open a new discipline.
University vice-rector, Stanislav Ignatyev, said, on his Facebook page, that it would be “Information technology in the extraction and transportation of oil and gas”.
Two years ago, at Karazin Kharkiv National University, with the support of Shell, KNURE began a new specialty for the preparation of competitive specialists for the mining industry.
Backed by the US Agency for International Development in November 2015, the project received equipment for the chemical, environmental and geological laboratories and financing for teacher training in Shell and British universities.
Mr Ignatiev said: “It‘s expected the qualifications will be presented during the third international business forum, where one of the partners is Shell. The project is also supported by the Ministry of Energy and Coal Industry of Ukraine.”
