Address yields over 3,000 “fake” IDPs

From February 15 Kharkiv law enforcement officers have launched 12 criminal proceedings on registration of “fake” certificates of internally displaced persons (IDPs) which alow them to receive the appropriate social benefits, informed UNN with reference to police.

Izyum police department (Kharkiv region) registered criminal proceedings on the fact of illegal assignment of the Office of Labor and Social Protection of Population of Izyum City Council of certificates on filing 3420 persons as displaced persons who actually reside at the same address. Then, on the base of these certificates pension authorities paid to above-noted persons the pension support.

At least 12 cases have been opened as part of the ongoing investigation under Article 366-1 Part 1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (forgery by an official). The crime carries a fine or up to three years in prisons.
