On February 9, contracts with the winners of the third round of the “Programme UNDP Small Grants: Support for entrepreneurship among IDPs” were signed in the Department to improve the competitiveness of the Kharkiv Regional State Administration. This was reported by the press service of KRSA.

According to Deputy Director of the Department Denis Tkachev, Screen Shot 2016-02-10 at 2.52.10 PM12 IDPs have received grants for a total amount of 1 million 110 thousand UAH. He also said: “At the moment we are providing assistance with the employment. Our goal is to create the conditions in which temporarily displaced persons will become all-sufficient. Supporting entrepreneurship is certainly one of the most effective solutions for this issue”.

According to the UNDP Project Coordinator in the Kharkiv region, Victoria Cherevko, IDPs, who have received grants during the first wave of the project, are now working. “We are coordinating their work – not for control, but in order to help the business workflow be most effective” she explained.

25 people living in the Kharkiv region in the three rounds of the project have received grants for a total amount of more than 3 million UAH. Amounts allocated to projects range from 50 to 225 thousand UAH depending on the number of jobs that were created by entrepreneurs.
