Signing of the agreement on free trade zone between Ukraine and Israel, as agreed by the two countries leaders, will have a positive impact on the investment and business climate of Kharkiv region, as a deputy Oleksandr Feldman, who accompanied the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko during a working visit to Israel on December 22-23rd, stressed.
“Free trade zone with Israel opens additional opportunities for Kharkiv. In the context of the sanctions policy of Russia, Kharkiv as a border city, suffers primarily economically. The discovery of additional opportunities in a form of cooperation with the Israeli business will compensate the losses incurred by the local economy today,” Feldman stated.
“Kharkiv region is a region with a special multi-segment economy. For our region the collaboration with Israel in trade, agricultural, construction and transport sectors, as well as in the sphere of high technologies will be of a great interest”, Feldman said. According to him, the main purpose of the visit of the Ukrainian delegation was to attract Israeli investment and bring the Israeli business in Ukraine and, particulary, in Kharkiv.
“The prospects of economic cooperation between the two countries was discussed during yesterday’s dinner with the president of Israel, representatives of the local business, and government officials. This topic was also discussed today during a breakfast with representatives of the Israeli business”, the deputy said.
It is worth to mentioning that Oleksandr Feldman is a member of the parliamentary group on inter-parliamentary relations with Israel in the Verkhovna Rada of IV-VІІІ convocations.
