In Kharkiv was held the second forum of deputies in support of the bill “On the development of a particular region – Slobozhanschina”. The forum was attended by more than 15 deputies of local councils of Kharkiv region, reported “Ukrainski noviny”.
During the event, ex-deputy of the Verkhovna Rada, the leader of the Public Council “Slobozhanschina” Alla Alexandrovskaya had a speech with a detailed presentation of the bill. She noted that the acuteness of the social problems in the Kharkiv region increases: “Since 2013, the growth of tariffs for housing and communal services amounted to more than 100%. At the same time, the real incomes of the population are stagnating. Meanwhile, the unemployment rate is 20%. This means that the economy of our region needs a serious impetus.”
Alla Alexandrovskaya noticed that the bill about the region “Slobozhanschina” provides mechanisms for solving social problems. Kharkiv region will get about 3 billion hryvnias due to the restoration of economic relationship with Russia and the redistribution of tax revenues between the center and regions in favor of the regions.
As a result of the forum a resolution in support of a special region “Slobozhanschina” in the Kharkiv region was unanimously adopted. The document was sent to the President of Ukraine and the Verkhovna Rada. Kharkiv deputies expect the reaction of the central authorities on their resolution.
The idea of decentralization in Kharkiv has grown and embodied in the project of creation a special region “Slobozhanschina”. The initiator was Alla Alexandrovskaya. According to her, this project promises wide economic independence for region. It will allow to keep the money earned in the Kharkiv region in its local budget instead of sending them to Kiev.
Recall that earlier prosecutor’s office of Kharkiv region accused the participants of the public organization “Slobozhanschina” in the infringement of the territorial integrity of Ukraine and initiated a criminal case.
