At the session of the Kharkiv City Council deputies approved a salary of the mayor, Gennady Kernes, as well as a salary of his deputies. According to Tatyana Taukesheva, the deputy mayor salary remained at the same level and wouldn’t be increased.
Kernes’s net salary amounts to 3,568 hryvnias. It is less than an average salary in Kharkiv region according to the Employment Research portals. However, the mayor receives salary supplement for the length of civil service and a scientific degree. Taking into account all the supplements, the monthly salary of the mayor is 9,075 hryvnias.
Gennady Kernes said that the whole salary he always gives to the charity in hospitals and kindergartens, however, he didn’t specify which one.
