A cult British band Public Image Ltd, headed by the ex Sex Pistols singer John Lydon (formerly known as Johnny Rotten), will give a concert in Kharkiv. The relevant information has appeared on the band official website.
The only performance of the group in Kharkiv will be held on May 21st at 19:00 in the concert-hall “Ukraine”. The cost of tickets is about 600 hryvnias.
Lydon picked up Public Image Ltd immediately after break-up of Sex Pistols in 1978. In the same year, the band released their debut album “Public Image: First Issue”, which is considered to be one of the first records of post-punk. Although the record has received negative reviews, it is now considered as a classic of the style. The second album, “Metal Box” marked by more avant-garde sound. In 2003, Rolling Stone magazine included the disc in the top 500 albums of all time.
During the existence of the group 17 musicians have been playing there, but a permanent member, its founder and lead singer remains John Lydon.
