Yesterday afternoon, the mayor of Kharkiv Gennadiy Kernes took advantage of the services of trolley №2. He personally tested new trolleybus route and talked with citizens. It is reported by the press service of the City Council.
Recall, as the construction of trolley lines on avenue Pobeda is finished, the routes trolleybuses №40 and №2 got extended for five stops.
“The main thing that we had the opportunity. We will prolong any route, which will be convenient for the citizens and provide the opportunity to save. At the moment, the construction is being done on Moskovsky avenue. We will examine the possibility of improving the transport scheme in this direction too,” said Gennady Kernes during a trip on a new trolleybus route.
According to the mayor, the city is working with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development on a loan for the purchase of 50-60 new trolleybuses. It is planned to take out a loan in the amount of 10 million euros. In addition, about 10 trams will be repaired before the end of this year and at least 50 in the next.
Recall, according to the decision of the session of the Kharkiv City Council on December 23rd, 58.6 million UAH will be allocated for the repair of tram cars in 2016.
