Kharkiven Ilya Teslenko set a record in the Ukrainian short course swimming championship, reported the website of Kharkiv Regional State Administration.
From 2 to 4 November the Ukrainian short course swimming championship has passed in the city Belaya Cerkov of Kyiv region where Kharkivens have already established the highest achievement of the country.
Ilya Teslenko set a record of Ukraine at a distance of 200m by freestyle. He finished first with a result 1:46.55 and thus surpassed the record of Yuriy Egoshin from Odessa – 1:46.79 which lasted 6 years.
His rival Jaroslav Denisenko from Poltava region who finished second Ilya outran on 3.20 seconds.
Moreover, on the account of Kharkiv swimmers is the highest achievement of Ukraine in the junior group. Valentin Nesterkin made this achievement on the distance of 200m by freestyle – 1:54.83. Furthermore, Valentin achieved a qualifying standard of Ukrainian master of sports.
