Volunteers are proposing to create an adaptation centre for Kharkiv children who have nowhere to go after schooling.
Representatives of the non-profit organization Emmaus are planning La Casa Volante (Flying House) for children and teenagers from boarding schools, reports the city council press service.
The main goal of the center is to support teenagers through education.
The house will cater for four to six girls, and 20 teenagers will attend classes. They will be prepared for entering universities and vocational schools, study housekeeping, take part in different social and cultural events. Later, the same center will be open for boys.
The center was bought two years ago during a Christmas campaign. Italian fund AVSI collected money for the purchase of the premises and partial repair.
The fund now needs volunteers willing to work with children, massage therapists, speech therapists, psychologists, and other to help young people find jobs.
BACKGROUND: Emmaus, founded in 2011 in Kharkiv, implements social and cultural programs for children with disabilities, orphans and children from poor families.
