Yesterday, on November 30th, the opening of the renovated building of Kuznets Kharkiv National Economic University (KNEU) was held in Kharkiv, as the press service of Kharkiv City Council reported.
The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, Vladimir Groisman, took part in the opening ceremony. He also read a lecture “Decentralization is a strategy of the national success”.
The new academic building is a six-storey building with modern finishes. Its main peculiarity is a clock tower, which the university has named “Small Sam”, in honor of the Nobel laureate Semen Kuznets. The clock tower was called the younger brother of London’s “Big Ben”.
Construction of the new building began in 2011. The cost of the work amounted to 30 million hryvnias. The opening of the new building is timed to the 85th anniversary of the KNEU. Today about 10,000 students, including more than 2500 foreign students from 39 countries, study at the Kharkiv National Economic University.
