Kharkiven won the tender for catching homeless dogs of Melitopol

Tender for Animal Control was held last week. The winner became the businessman from Kharkiv, informs RIA “Melitopol”.

“Two companies participated in the tender: Kharkiv utility “Center for treatment of animals” and the entrepreneur Taras Cherniha. The first participant was willing to perform the work for 686,000 UAH while Taras Cherniha applied for 640 thousand UAH. That is why he was chosen the winner, ” said Deputy Mayor of Melitopol Ivan Fedorov at a press briefing.

1500 dogs should be caught according to the plan. They will be sterilized in Kharkiv and then released. The journalists of RIA “Melitopol” have doubts regarding the fairness of the tender process, because it is not clear who will control the catch and they are afraid that the dogs could be just killed. Also they wonder if Kharkiv is ready to accept as many homeless animals.
