Two Ukrainian Universities achieved a very high ranking\u00a0according to the British publication\u00a0Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2015-2016<\/a>: Taras Shevchenko National\u00a0University of Kiev<\/a> and V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University<\/a>\u00a0are at positions in the\u00a0601 to 800 range from 800 ranked universities in\u00a0the world.<\/p>\n

According to analysts, Ukrainian universities got shortlisted as the rating of this year<\/a> were\u00a0expanded from the top 400 from 41 countries to the top 800 from 70 countries.<\/p>\n

Experts explain that the Ukrainian universities are “at the tail” of the list, because their main function is\u00a0education, but researches of World University Rankings direct on the estimation of research institutions.\u00a0The top five ranking include such well-known universities as the California Institute of Technology\u00a0(USA) (first place), University of Oxford (UK) (second place), Stanford University (USA) (third place), University of Cambridge (fourth place), and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (USA) (fifth place).<\/p>\n

In making the rating, 13 performance indicators were taken into account that allow to make the most\u00a0complex and balanced comparisons. In turn, these indicators were grouped into five directions: level of\u00a0educational services, level of researches, citation of scholarly articles, international activities, and income\u00a0from industry cooperation.<\/p>\n

Recall, September 15th, 2015 the British company Quacquarelli Symonds promulgated international\u00a0ranking of higher education institutions QS World University Rankings 2015\/16<\/a>, in which the\u00a0performance of universities in the world were estimated.\u00a06 Ukrainian universities got shortlisted in this ranking, V. Karazin Kharkiv National University was in the\u00a0position 491-500, National Technical University “Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute” was in the position\u00a0701+.<\/p>\n
