Kharkiv charity, Children with spinal muscular atrophy (SMA), has begun an exhibition and eventual auction of dolls with unique features.
The exhibition aims to draw public attention and authorities to the problem of rare diseases.
“Among the dolls presented are images that embody a rare disease, but even a doll is a doll,” organizers said.
“We come together so that the voice of rare diseases can be heard. We hope children and adults reflect on the slogan.”
Everyone who wants to join the auction can, in a few weeks, buy a doll. To do this, they need to leave their suggestions on the events page on Facebook.
The exhibition and auction will last until March 14, with the proceeds being donated to the Children with SMA fund. Results of the auction will be announced March 18.
The exhibition’s opening marked International Day of Rare Diseases on February 29.
